Registration of Kampong Speu palm sugar (“Skor Thnot Kampong Speu“) as a Geographical Indication
Kampong Speu palm sugar has been registered as a Protected Geographical Indication in Cambodia since 2010. With Kampot Pepper, it was one of the very first Geographical Indication registered in Cambodia. Since then, Kampong Speu palm sugar has been registered as Geographical Indication in (Thailand? Vietnam?) and in the European Union (in 2019), where it enjoys full protection from misuse, imitation or evocation of its name to provide the guarantee to consumers that they can enjoy the genuine and unique Kampong Speu palm sugar.

Either the logo of Kampong Speu palm sugar (which can be in Khmer, English, French …)
and / or the national GI logo of Cambodia
and / or the IG logo of the European Union
(or possibly another national GI logo, in countries where Kampong Speu palm sugar is also registered as a GI, such as Thailand or Vietnam).

The label shall also indicate:
- A batch number :

- An expiry date

- The name, address and contact of the producer / company that packaged the product.
